kcwc fall 2011!

kcwc button for fall 2011

It’s time again for another edition of KCWC: kids clothes week challenge.  KCWC is a twice-annual event where I challenge you to commit to sew children’s clothes for an hour each day for 7 days. Fall is coming (at least in these parts) and my kids could use some cozy pants and sweaters–and pretty soon we’ll need hats and mittens too! All that sewing is a little overwhelming, but I am always amazed at how much I get done by putting in a bit of time every day.

If you have more questions about how KCWC works, you can jump over to the FAQ page. Then jump back here and leave a comment on this post telling me you are in! That’s all it takes. Then on the second week of October there will be hundreds (really, hundreds) of people cheering you on to make awesome clothes for your kids.

In the mean time, feel free to browse around the elsiemarley flickr group for inspiration–join the group so you can post pictures for this one–and look at my posts from older KCWCs! If you have a blog, you can copy and paste the button below (fancy, html code to come when tech support/husband returns).  So leave a comment and sign up! spread the word! sew like crazy!

This is third time I’ve thrown my name in the hat of participation.

The first time was a complete and utter FAIL. Boo me.

The second time I made a skirt. One skirt. Sigh.

Third time’s the charm? As a birthday present to myself of SUCCESS, which I will celebrate on the final day of the KCWC.

Oh no I didn’t realise you did this twice a year! the summer one nearly killed me! I’ll have a think before I say yes!

Last time my challenge to myself was one garment per day, and while I didn’t make it, I got two blouses and two dresses out of it that my daughter wears all the time. I’m in!

  20. Oh no! That’s the week of my baby’s first birthday and my mother is visiting (my craft room is also the guest bedroom). Maybe I’ll have to move my sewing machine somewhere else for the week, or do my own KCWC the week before. Oh the dilemma!

  21. Andreae says:

Me too! Me too! Last time I signed up I was way pregnant, and only managed to tackle a skirt (it’s a well-loved skirt, though). Let’s see what I can do this time around.

  22. Ginger says:

I’m totally in, but I’ll need to do my sewing the week before if I’m to have any hope of getting pictures uploaded too!
