christmas tins

Some loot from the thrifty store–pretty tins to fill with christmas cookies. Feeling a little old because I’m planning for christmas in september, but maybe that’s just wise rather than lame. I can’t tell.

pretty tin

I’m going to have a hard time letting this one go. I hope you find tons of beautiful things you don’t need at the thrift store this weekend!

p.s. KCWC fall 2011 is filling up fast: 100 people and counting! yay!

Those are awesome. I especially like the rectangular one. You can point and laugh at all of us when we’re all scrambling around mid-December looking for cookie tins.

I posted about the thrifted vintage jewelry boxes I absolutely don’t need! http://secretcake.blogspot.com/2011/09/vintage-love-friday-jewelry-boxes.html

    Have a great weekend.

I Love those tins. I am 99% sure I had one exactly like the rectangular one growing up. It sat on my oak dresser and held all my special things for years. I have no idea what’s become of it. And by the way, I’d say you are wise to start thinking about Christmas. I was doing the same thing yesterday. Planning lists, etc.

Those are beautiful! I like the way you think. As someone who is planning to send cookies across country for Christmas for the first time, do you have any recommendations on cookies/candies that would hold up?

Two years ago when we purchased this sewing center it was filled to the brim with goodies. The man selling it said it belonged to his mother. Much to my surprise he said take everything which included three big tins like these. I love them. I am currently redoing my computer/sewing room where these tins will find a place on the shelf stuffed with old buttons. I can’t wait!

    Love them! so pretty!

I think I would have a hard time giving any of them away. I mean, I would have so much craft miscellany I could stash in those…but holiday cookies in those is perfect.

Man!! WHICH thrifty store do YOU shop at??? I never see those tins anywhere except the antique stores! I love all of them!! Especially that white one you’ll have a hard time letting go of. I have one exactly like that except it’s a black background. ooo! They’d look nice side by side! Any person on your gift list getting one of those tins is extremely lucky! Bonus when it’s filled with cookies!! :o)
