Great finds, although the bunny is a bit creepy. I recently introduced my little girl to the treasures at the thrift store. She found a big hat and fake flowers. She was delighted!

I try to go to Saver’s thrift store each Monday when they have their 99 cent and half off tags. I have extra women’s sewing patterns on my blog this week (as a giveaway) that came home this last thrift trip. And yes…that bunny is a little off…lol!

    I love that blanket.

Woot! I love finding great bargains. I like to think of thrifting as an adventure. You never know what you might find.

I love a great day at the thrift store. You had some awesome finds. I was at the thrift store yesterday but dropping off instead of buying. Still a good feeling but not quite as fun.

  6. Wendy says:

Nice scores! I never find anything good at the thrift store. I just don’t seem to have the knack for it.

  7. Mom says:

You might have recognized that blanket from years ago: your sister Caroline had one just like it. It was a Santa Fe purchase. Nice to see it turn up again.

I guess thrifting runs in the family. karma is good.

  9. The rabbit IS a bit creepy but I love that blanket! Good find.

  10. Thrift stores keep shutting their doors around here – probably because they only rarely had anything cute like that in…

What you have there in that blanket is an authentic Mexican serape. Love them. That was really a steal. I wanted to show you a couple of others, and found some here:
    http://www.elchamaco.com/mexican-blankets.php

They are not uncommon here in Texas. The serapes are nicer than the falsa (which everyone seems to have 10+ of to use practically like packing blankets or picnic blankets or wraps or cargo protectors or seat protectors or doggie beds or couch protectors or or or).

Nice post. I love our resale shop here, too.

You were a rock star from Mars at that thrift store! Adore the stripey blanket.

  14. Sascha says:

Thrifting bugs the crap out of me. Everyone but me finds cool stuff. I need a basket for the baby. Preferably one with a lid.

  15. Carla says:

I agree with Sascha, I never find cool stuff at the thrift store … all the norcal hipster kids beat me to the good stuff! I have thrift-find envy!

  16. Angela says:

Great finds! My mom used to have a wicker stool that looked very much like your “basket”… ;)

  17. Fun finds! I have a similar wicker basket & serape blanket at home.

  18. […] (and in the forecast) but it is officially spring and trash picking season has begun! woohoo! thrifty may be good, but free is better. I picked up this beauty from the curb in a frozen rain the other […]

gosh..how beautiful is that?? it looks like an all in one food waste bin. chop and dump. kind of yucky in terms of cleanliness i guess, but that’s what crossed my mind when i saw the picture. a beautiful round wooden chopping board on top of a nice bin for food waste.
