pillow week: two

November 8th, 2010

Wow pillows are crazy fast to make.  Even if you put a zipper in. Actually putting a zipper in takes less time than doing the overlapping fabric deeliboper I usually do. This pillow came from a skirt that I got at clothes swap looong ago. It was a fancy anthropologie skirt that never fit me (or the orginal owner) quite right. I think it looks much better as a pillow anyway. Now I’m going through my closet trying to find other clothes I can use. Keep your shirt on–I’m making anything I can get my hands on into a pillow this week.

I made a pillow case out of an old men’s button up shirt, using the button up part as the closure. Super cute.

I love this pillow. I have a few pillows that have been cut out. Zips scare me! Maybe I should finish them this week.

Thanks too, for the tips you e-mailed me, about the tissue paper pom poms. It is very possible that I did not read the actual instructions properly. I might try them again for christmas:)

    Happy pillow making.

Love this pillow. I’ve been intimidated to put a zipper on anything. But maybe a pillow would be a good place to give it a try!

    sooooo PRETTY!
makes me itch to make one but my house has so many pillows already …….. I know! I’ll recover the ones we have :)

are you using a pillow form under there or are you stuffing it?

I LOVE this pillow! The threading detail is awesome.

I was actually just thinking about making pillows out of a dress I adore (the strap broke), but it’s kelly green and doesn’t go with anything…

oh know, I was just about to start up my pillow for the day now that all the little ones are really asleep..you have completely messed me up mentioning where you got that great fabric. I have a great red skirt that I haven’t worn in four years from Anthropologie and now I am sick thinking that I might just have to take your lead and cut it up right now! Thanks a lot ; )
