map

July 1st, 2009

trash picking season is in full swing here. I’ve found a few things, including this fantastically huge map (we live in wisconsin, if you didn’t know, so it’s not weird). I’ve had to pass by many things because with another baby on the way we just don’t have room for more stuff, even if it is free for the taking. Speaking of that little baby, he or she will be here soon–seven weeks–so I think I have to be in this space a little less and start to make room for the little one. I will still check in, probably once a week, but if I disappear you will know what I’m up to.

for more awesome trash look here.

Posted in my home.

Over here in Minnesota we have Twin Cities Free Market. There is a website wich people post what they need to get rid of for free. It is great. I am sure WI has something like it too.

Aren’t you in Madison? That is the capitol of trash picking. Those college kids throw away awesome things sometimes!

Love the map! I live in Wisconsin, too, but my husband is from Illinois (sigh), so he would never allow a map of Wisconsin on the wall. So, I’m jealous :)

happy nesting :-) that map would be cool even if you weren’t from Wisconsin… at my undergrad college they had a “Map Library” I used to haunt. One day they had a whole stack of Free Maps they were getting rid of–I took a few and used as gift wrap, but I’ve always wished I still had more intact.

    Love the map.

I have been collecting vintage maps for a wall that needs wallpapering but I can’t do it! I can’t paste them up there as I love all the old vintage advertisments and don’t want to ‘ruin’ them by pasting them on. I think I will just hang that hanging ones and keep the others.

where do you live in Wisconsin? I’m outside Chicago…we’re practically neighbors! Good luck with all the baby prep- what fun!

I love maps as decoration. I am thinking of snagging one of Paris. It’s insane.
There is one I have found on flickr where the room was decorated in a giant world map and the wall paint matched the ocean color.
