list

June 16th, 2008

I said I was going to get my sewing self organized and so I’ve made a list and I’m going to devote a week (of evenings) to each item. Maybe two, if I am actually finishing things.  But the point of this is to get some things done off my big list, make new things, and not hesitate so damn much. Basically, I need to focus.  And sinking into the couch watching whole seasons of The Wire is not helping me focus at all.

the picture doesn’t have a thing to do with this post. I found it on the curb this morning and thought it was pretty fantastic. If you want to more fantastic trash, check out the trash pickins pool on flickr.

Man, I so wish I could be in your neighborhood come trash day.

Focus and a list is exactly what I need too. I wish you luck–this seems to plague most of us creative types…

You seem to be echoing my thoughts. Quite recently I used to come out from tucking the girls in and snuggle under a blanket on the couch with the box on. We’ve stopped turning the tv on. And I am making a little progress on some craft projects on my list. My downfall now is this time-vacuum of a ‘puter. I wish you luck!

Maybe some Wire related designs will come out of your hiatus?

Really? I clearly live in the wrong neighbourhood. And I’m sure I would be more focussed if I could get a bit more sleep, but there always seems to be just one more thing to squeeze in before bed.

Hi there, just wanted to say good luck with your list. I’m on episode 6 of season 2 of The Wire and have become quite addicted.

I am so with you on this. I get in these ruts where it’s almost like I physically can’t turn on my machine…odd. But at the same time I am buying fabric, finding clothes at dig & save to tear apart, and adding to my list of things I want to make.

I’m going out of town for a week but am going to join you on this endeavor when I return. I hope you’ll update with your progress. :)

I can’t believe anyone parted with that willingly. I’m thinking about painting the window well of the dining room (that is currently all white) that color.

I am going to do the same. I need a new storage space the one I have is confineing and I cannot see everything I have.

So the cabinet is going to be sold and I am going to get the shelving units I’ve at Aldi’s.

It is a five shelve wire storage unit. It is on wheels and it would work great because the shelves are very deep.

I will start putting things in order tonight!

I need a list. I have several projects/ideas floating around and I just need to get serious, and get started. I think I also have to prioritize the projects that are for me, and projects others have given to me. Good luck with your list, I’ll get started on mine.

  14. Oh, this looks pretty much exactly like my list. I am a list kind of girl. Mental, written or whispered through the air lists. They are always there. But now, it seems to be working, slowly but steady. Through taping the list on my wall I am starting to cross items. Yay for lists!
