from the north country: Abbey of Aesthetic Outburst

February 7th, 2011

I’ve always (always!) had a difficult time keeping myself motivated during the winter months and tend to change furniture around a lot this time of year. Today I thought I’d share a few photos of my most recent switcheroo; I flip-flopped the playroom with our 3-year-old’s bedroom. I’m going to have giant muscles if winter drags on too much longer.

books and costumes...two of E's important collections

this chair gets a lot of use right next to the bookshelf

the kind of hideous, but much-loved, bubble car bed

E's drawings and other special papers are hung on two wires above his dresser. Some of his favorite projects sit on top of the dresser.

I shared the playroom photos on Aesthetic Outburst, so stop over and take a look sometime. Thanks so much to Meg for inviting me to guest blog!

I sure do love that Eames rocker. Lovely.
I’m wondering if your Killeen pennant is related to the Killeen, Texas kangaroos? My mom is a teacher there!

We are exactly the same over in my house. Luckily my husband feels the same and helps so much. We just moved around our living room around and I blogged about it a couple of weeks ago. Love your book case.

I love it! I wish I could get motivated to get my two little ones room fixed up…pregnancy is not being kind to my winter aspirations.

Thanks so much for your lovely comments, everyone!
Katiekate- I’m not sure about the Killeen pennant. I found it at a thrift store with a bunch of other pennants. Our 3 yr old picked that one out of the bunch to hang in his room. :) Something about a kangaroo in a helmet…
Wendy- pregnancy was never kind to mine either. :) Oh my!
The bed is a Step 2 brand toddler bed that we found on craigslist (we searched ‘toddler car bed’) and found several of the same kind.
