the xeroxed tree, decorated

decorated paper tree

Here is the xeroxed tree all decorated! The kids had a blast making ornaments for it.  They did have a hard time coming up with christmasy things, hence the orange octopus. And what is that giant purple thing, you ask? A whale shark, silly. Don’t you have one on your tree?

My sister said I should get lights for it and I do want to. These look like they would be perfect, but they are on back order. poo.

shelf in the kids' room

There was an overwhelming response to showing you the kids’ room now rather than later–you guys have no patience :) So I’ll have a few post for you next week (there are a lot of pictures for a such a small room). Here is a little sneak peek.

Have a good weekend!

seventh day of advent

tree

Growing up we were a very lazy (and cheap) get your christmas tree on christmas eve kind of family. I won’t even go into the time we didn’t have a tree, but instead clothespinned pine branches onto our fig tree (I thought it was because of my whining, but I think it was the laziness, see above). Needless to say, I am now fully in the christmas tree the day after thanksgiving camp. So ours is up and decorated–by my 2 and 4 year old, but decorated nonetheless. Even if you don’t have a tree yet you can download, color and decorate this lovely one just the way you like.

Show off all your pretty trees here and buy a coloring book for under the tree here!

thrifted tuesday

Two perfectly good thrift stores very close to my house closed recently.  One so quickly and secretly that I didn’t even get in on their unloading all this crap for a ridiculously low price sale.  But I did manage to pick up these sweet little tin houses while I was on the other side of town. I think you’re suppose to put candles in them, but I’m content with them just looking pretty.  They are on our mantle next to our christmas tree away from four curious baby hands.
